The Happy a Domani Lavoro Group: the fair to meet new talents

From 9 to 11 November, Gruppo Happy took part in the first edition of the Domani Lavoro event, an unmissable opportunity for companies and new talent to meet.

The event was created with the idea of allowing students, recent graduates or workers in search of a new career to get to know the work opportunities in the local area, and for companies to meet people who wish to put themselves out there and take on a career pathway.

Here at Gruppo Happy we too took the opportunity to make ourselves known, presenting the company with a stand designed to convey our values, our international organisation and all the positions our group can offer to those interested, with a single goal, perfectly summarised by our motto: Choose to be Happy!

During the course of the three-day event, the high-schoolers and new graduates had the chance to interface with us directly; welcoming them were our colleagues Carolina Branca, Roxana Husaru, Francesca Filippini and Anna Brunori, ready to answer all their questions and respond to their interests.

During the exhibition, along with Fabrizio Bernini we took part in an event put on by the “knowledge hub” Hub della Conoscenza, entitled “Giovani e imprese a confronto per un lavoro e un mondo più sostenibile”, (young people and companies together for a more sustainable world and work), allowing youngsters from the Brescia area’s secondary education institutes and local companies to get together and share feedback. One of the main goals of the event was to highlight the challenges that schools currently face in preparing students for the world of work, but it was also the chance for companies to present an attractive face to the local area.

The meeting began with a presentation from Giuliano Noci, Vice Rector of Polytechnic University of Milan and Director of Hub della Conoscenza, who immediately handed over to the head of IIS Don Milani high school, Claudia Covri, for the first talk. The issue is clear: “Schools need to be able to change their focus from teachers teaching to students learning”. The goal is to prepare young people for the world of work through curricular activities which allow them to practice what they learn. To paraphrase Edgar Morin, schools should not create full heads, but rather good, well-rounded minds.

The female pupils from the Brescia area’s high schools then took to the stage, each expressing their dreams, points of view and expectations with regard to the world of work.
Finally, it was the companies’ turn to take the stage: Fabrizio Bernini spoke for us, highlighting the need to create pathways which can let students get to know companies while they are still finishing up their education by offering training experiences and projects. Finally, the HR manager of Elea S.p.A. also reaffirmed how important dialogue between the world of work and the new generation is today, with the goal of creating the chance for feedback in order to align companies’ expectations with those that young people currently have for the industrial sector.

Domani Lavoro was therefore a great opportunity for both meeting up and listening, allowing us to open up to the labour market and make ourselves known, in keeping with our motto: Choose to be Happy!
