Young People’s Contribution to Ecomondo 2024

On Thursday 7 November 2024, the students who participated in last year’s training project from Gruppo Happy in partnership with the Fondazione Luigi Masserini foundation visited the Ecomondo event in Rimini, making their contribution to the plastics debate at Conai’s round table.

Some of them indeed decided to take an active part in the change, accepting the challenge of telling the audience at Ecomondo what they had learned during the meet-ups and inviting many other young people like them not to give in to prejudice, but rather to dig deeper and fully understand the world of plastics and food packaging.

We therefore thank Corepla, whose collaboration made it possible to hear the young people’s thoughts during the round table entitled “Riciclo delle vaschette in plastica” (recycling of plastic trays).
Sofia – a student at Aselli scientific high school in Cremona – spoke on behalf of all her classmates, recounting her experience, from her initial doubts to sharing her hopes that everyone, both other young people and adults, can make an active contribution to creating an ever-more sustainable world.

We then shot a short video to document the reflections of Sofia, Chiara, Michele and Camilla from the Aselli secondary school and Luca, a student from the Beata Vergine linguistic high school, who recounted their experiences and talked at the Corepla stand about how good information can make the difference to acting in an informed manner.

We are happy that this journey we have taken alongside the students from the Cremona schools has been an opportunity to grow and acquire new knowledge and expertise. We hope it will also stimulate many other young people like them to put themselves out there and make a difference.

For us, this event represented a chance to meet some of the younger generation, who allowed us to understand how much we can contribute to change and build a sustainable future together.
